The Juma lodge was designed to be totally integrated to the Jungle. The construction and operation of the lodge comply with and respect the limitations of the environment, which is the very reason for the hotel to exists.

The Juma Lodge was built on solid ground, and it is supported on stilts. This type of construction is necessary due to the flood season when the river water level rises up to 20 meters (66 feet)

All materials used to build the Juma Lodge are plentiful in the region and were judiciously extracted from the forest. Timber from trees such as the Angelim, Itauba, Aquaricquara, tintarana, and jacareuba, were used on walls, passage ways and stilts, while the leaves of the babacu tree are used as roof covering just like in the native houses. This judicious extractions prevents the introduction of elements foreign to the jungle.

Despite this environmental concern, Juma Lodge offers excellent facilities for a lodge located in the jungle and has eleven comfortable rooms with veranda, hammock, fan, minibar and private bath.

Juma Lodge is proud to announce the opening of three new bungalows all with unobstructed view of the Juma Lake. The new bungalows which are sited among the treetops at 15 meters above the lake level, are located in an exclusive area of the Lodge and thus offer total privacy.

They were designed to be fully integrated into the surrounding forests and were built with a respect for the local environment. In these new bungalows you will be able to feel the real enchantment and mystery of the Brazilian Amazon.

Juma Lodge is located at 3 hours van and boat ride from the city of Manaus or at 30 minutes hydroplane ride.
