Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge Iquitos Peru Is one of the most exclusive lodges in the Peruvian Amazon and a heaven for visitors in search of a quiet retreat. From this unique place, the guests can visit the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve, which is the largest protected natural area in Peru.

Surrounded by abundant rain forest, Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge has been built in accordance with the architecture of the zone and offers comfortable bungalows with private bathroom and terrace with view to the river. Connecting elevated walkways lead to the clubhouse, dining room, hammock room, watchtowers and hiking paths.

MEALS: At the restaurant, visitors can enjoy international and regional cuisine, as well as bar service. Meals consist of soups and appetizers, salads, main course, pasta, dessert, fresh fruits, coffee or tea. They provide also drinking water to the visitors.

ELECTRICITY: Electricity is only available at night.

Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge is located 190 kilometers (120 miles) southwest of the city of Iquitos, on the banks of the Marañon river, at a short distance from the National Reserve. Daily flights arrive from Lima to Iquitos and from Iquitos to Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge is a 3.5 hours by boat through the Amazon and Marañon rivers.

Tours from 3 to 6 days, depending on your particular interests and time available. Tariffs include bus and riverboat transfers, lodging, meals, entrance fee to the Reserve and guided excursions.

Groups are limited to a maximum of 12 guests per boat to allow a closer and better appreciation of nature. Experienced bilingual guides conduct excursions. The staff is well trained in first aid techniques.
Transportation is comfortable in boats with roof and life jackets. The lodge and transportation units have a direct communication system by short wave radio with the city of Iquitos.

PROGRAM: 5 DAYS/ 4 NIGHTS (PS–104)

DAY ONE: IQUITOS / LODGE
Reception at the airport by one of the bilingual guides. Transfer by highway to the locality of NAUTA, the first population founded by the Spaniards on the shore of the Marañón River.
The trip approximately lasts 1.30h on a route of 90 kilometers (55 miles) totally asphalted. In Nauta the Passengers will be embarked in PSAL boats, in order to begin the program with the visit to the confluence of the rivers Ucayali and Marañón.
Enjoy the spectacular view from a 100 feet watching tower. Arrival to the lodge and accommodation. Lunch.
In the afternoon, you will make a hike through the rain forest that surrounds the lodge to appreciate rain forest flora and fauna.
Depending of the climate conditions, you will observe a beautiful sunset from the watch-tower.
Dinner and briefing about the activities of the next day. Night at PSAL.

DAY TWO: PACAYA SAMIRIA NATIONAL RESERVE (PSNR)
Jungle wild dawn. Birdwatching. Breakfast.
Departure to the PSNR. Boat excursion to Nauta creek and the surrounding lakes (cochas).
Chance to observe flora and fauna (monkeys, sloths and wide variety of aquatic birds).
Lunch (box lunch). Swimming. Fishing. Exploration of seasonally flooded forest (flat lands flooded each year by the seasonal rainfall).
Return to lodge. Dinner. Night at PSAL.

DAY THREE: PACAYA SAMIRIA NATIONAL RESERVE
Early morning breakfast.
Departure to the PSNR. Boat trip down the Yanayacu river.
Chance to observe gray and pink dolphins, aquatic birds, river turtles, sloths, monkeys, parrots and macaws. Box lunch.
Arrival at camping site. Afternoon and night excursions.
Caiman sightseeing. Sound of the jungle. Dinner.
Night at camping sites in tents.

DAY FOUR: PACAYA SAMIRIA NATIONAL RESERVE/ LODGE
Breakfast.
In the morning, riverside village visit to learn about local people way of life.
Lunch.
Return to PSAL.
Night at the PSAL.

DAY FIVE: LODGE / IQUITOS
Breakfast.
Morning relax.
Lunch.
Departure to the city of Iquitos.
Transfer to the airport at time to board your flight.
