It is located less than two hours from world class Andean Ski and Beach resorts and harbors of the Pacific coast. The main international airport is located close to the city and beautiful wineries surround the capital.
This bustling and modern city was founded in 1541 by Pedro de Valdivia. Santiago is the economic, administrative and cultural center of Chile. There is much to be seen in this pleasant city, home to many park and green areas. It is a city of contrasts, modern skyscrapers are found next to small grocery stores. Architecture ranges between colonial, baroque and modern. The Mapocho River, flows through the city from east to west. Current initiatives are working to clean up its waters and claim the river as a green area. As in most large cities, traffic is a problem but the people from Santiago de Chile are working on a huge new road network to alleviate traffic. Improvements in the subway and new public transport are working to reduce Santiago's smog the coming years.
Santiago de Chile is only 1 and a half hour away from Vina del Mar “The Garden City” and Valparaiso a picturesque and historical port declared Heritage Site by Unesco. Valparaiso houses seem to be sliding from the top of the surrounding hills right into the sea. One major attraction are the 16 funicular railways which date back to 1880 and connect the lower with the upper city. Beautiful views to the bay can be enjoyed from upper Valparaiso. The city has several museums among them is “La Sebastiana” one of the houses of Literature Nobel price winner Pablo Neruda and another “Casa Mistral” the house of Gabriela Mistral (Nobel price winner for Literature in 1945). Vina del Mar is among the most important beach resorts in Chile, with a very good infrastructure and excellent cultural offerings.
World class ski resorts are located less than two hours from Santiago. There is a wide range of possibilities to suit the needs from beginners to experts in ski, snowboard and even heli-snowboarding. Between July and September Valle Nevado and Portillo serve as training places for national teams from USA and Europe.
ATACAMA DESERT
Located in the Norte Grande region of Chile, which is one of the world’s most desolated areas. Atacama Desert is so dry that in many parts no rain has ever been recorded. Twice a decade it explodes in a riot of color known as the “Flowering Desert” Desierto Florido.
Atacama Desert located to the west of La Cordillera de Sal, a mountain range composed almost entirely of salt. Attractions like Valle de la Luna (Valley of the Moon) and Valle de la Muerte (Valley of the Death), the Salar de Atacama which is the largest slat flat in Chile, alpine lakes, steaming geysers, colonial villages and ancient fortresses at Altiplano will make a great travel experience.
MENDOZA
Mendoza is located next to the Andes Mountain Range forming an incredible Oasis in the middle of the Mendoza and Tunuyan rivers.
Mendoza is one of the most visited destinations in Argentina because of the many activities you can enjoy here.
The climate of the region is mild though the mountains provide a certain degree of aridity. The temperature in summer ranges from 18º C to 33º C and days are hot and nights are fresh. In winter, the minimum temperature is 3º C and the maximum registered temperature is 16º C.
Mendoza is the center of the wine industry in Argentina and accounts for approximately 70% of the country’s total output. Nearly all the major wineries are concentrated in this province. Its signature grape is the Malbec. The climate in Mendoza is the ideal setting for the full expression of this grape variety.
Mendoza is home to more than a thousand wineries. What sets them apart from their counterparts in Napa, Bordeaux, and Tuscany is that most Argentine vineyards share recipes and techniques with tourists. On many tours, visitors are encouraged to get up close and personal with barrels, equipment, and grapes.
Mendoza is also famous for its close proximity to Cerro Aconcagua, the highest peak in all of South America at 6,962 meters (22,835 feet). Nicknamed the “Roof of the Americas,” only experienced mountaineers attempt the summit, but hiking to base camp and the surrounding area is a popular option—and an unforgettable one at that. Because of the diverse geographic area, the Diamante, Atuel and Upper Rio Mendoza rivers also provide some of the best white-water rafting in the country.

La Boca
Perhaps the most colorful area in Buenos Aires is La Boca, which sits along the port. Here an assortment of brightly painted low houses made of wood and metal burst upon the eyes in a scene that could almost be from some- where in Scandinavia. The main street here is Caminito, which has an artisans and painters fair, open air tango shows, and typical Italian cantinas.
San Telmo
San Telmo is widely hailed as the most picturesque part of Buenos Aires. Cobblestone streets and colonial buildings set the atmosphere for an array of shops and boutiques, tango parlors and cafes.
Puerto Madero
Recoleta
This area is the most fashionable place in Buenos Aires to dine; it is adjacent to the Cementario de la Recoleta, Eva Peron's final resting place. Along with Evita's much-visited grave, there is Our Lady of the Pilar Church, the Cultural Center, and the Palais de Glace, a major gallery. You can walk along the Pilar, which brims with a wide variety of restaurants and venues featuring live music every night.
Palermo
Palermo is area of woods and lakes, on large park composed of many small ones. Among the attracts are a pleasant rose garden filled with sculptures, polo fields, and the Japanese Garden.

It was the capital city fo the Andean state of Tahuantinsuyo. According to Inca’s legend Cuzco was founded by Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo somewhere between the 11th and 12th centuries. Later, due to an order by Spaniard Francisco Pizarro, this city of Cuzco was founded again on the 23rd of March 1534.
Cuzco is considered worldwide the archaeological capital of America. This title was given by "World's Navel" by the Incas. Today it is the first cultural center of Peru and has been proclaimed as "Humankind's Cultural Heritage" by UNESCO.

MACHU PICCHU - Peru
Machu Picchu a historical Inca city located in the High Andes Mountains of Peru. Machu Picchu is located 43 miles north-west of Cuzco on top of the ridge. The surroundings are covered by dense bush that is covering some Pre-Colombian cultivation terraces.
Machu Picchu means "manly peak") was a royal city and religious retreat of the Inca culture. The city of Machu Picchu was build somewhere between 1460 and 1470 AD by Pachacuti Inca Yupanqui, an Inca ruler. The city is located at an altitude of 8000 feet above the Urubamba River Canyon. Machu Picchu is a city with approximately 200 buildings most of them residences, temples, storage rooms and other public buildings. Machu Picchu has a polygonal masonry typical of the late Inca period.
Approximately 1200 people used to live in the Machu Picchu area and most the inhabitants were women, children and priest of the community. Most of the buildings were made of granite blocks that fit perfectly without mortar, although none of the blocks are the same size and have many faces some of them with as many as 30 corners. The tight way the stones have been jointed does not even allow a thin knife to penetrate between them. The Incas planted crops such as potatoes and maize at Machu Picchu. To get the highest yield possible, they used advanced terracing and irrigation methods to reduce erosion and increase the area available for cultivation. However, it probably did not produce a large enough surplus to export agricultural products to Cuzco, the Incan capital.
Very few people outside the Inca’s closest retainers were actually aware of Machu Picchu’s existence. Before the Spanish conquistadors arrived, the smallpox spread ahead of them. The disease had killed Fifty percent of the population by 1527. The government began to fail, part of the empire seceded and it fell into civil war. So by the time Pizarro, the Inca’s conqueror, arrived in Cuzco in 1532, Machu Picchu was already forgotten.
LAKE TITICACA, PUNO PERU
The Peruvian legend says that Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo who were the founders of the Inca Empire emerged from the waters of Lake Titicaca.
This is the Peruvian altiplano, the high plains where the earth is so high that almost touches the sky that atmosphere takes a luminous quality. Remember that when you are at 12550 feet above sea level it will be challenging for your system. Take it easy while you adapt to the altitude.
Puno in Peru is located 975 kilometers (609 miles) southeast of Lima. Puno is a small town with friendly and warm people. Most of the sightseeing sites are located between Plaza de armas and Pino Park and the main shops and restaurants are located at the pedestrian street of Jiron Lima.
Every Sunday at 11 Am at the Plaza de Armas there is a special patriotic celebration with bands and high-stepping military uniforms.
The Lake Titicaca at 3821 m above sea level, is the highest commercially navigable lake in the world. With a surface area of approximately 8300 square kilometers Titicaca is South America's largest freshwater lake. Located in the Peruvian Altiplano high in the Andes on the border of Peru and Bolivia, Titicaca has an average depth of between 140 and 180 meters and a maximum depth of 280 meters. The western part of the lake belongs to the Puno region of Peru, and the eastern side is located in the Bolivian La Paz Department.
Lake Titicaca is notable for a population of people who live on the Uros floating Island, located at 8.24 km (5.15 miles) from the shore. nine artificial islands made of floating reeds. These islands have become a major tourist attraction for Peru, drawing excursions from the lakeside city of Puno. Another island, Taquile, is another tourist attraction featuring a different indigenous community. The Taquile Island locals are known for their hand-woven textile products, which are some of the highest quality handicrafts in Peru.

SANTIAGO DE CHILE
Santiago de Chile, a modern and active city with one of South America's most active economies. Santiago de Chile is the capital and financial center of the country with almost six million of inhabitants being approximately 40 percent of the population in Chile.
Santiago is considered one of the cities in Latin America with the highest quality of living.
Some of the most attractive sites in Santiago are San Cristobal Hill, a mountain with over 800 meters above sea level already included as part of the city. On top of the hill the Virgin Mary statue blesses the city.. You can reach the top of the hill by cable cars with a privilege view of the city and the Andes Mountain Range.
The center of the city is the soul of Santiago with colonial buildings like the Cathedral of Santiago, Municipalidad de Santiago and the Correo Central, located in the Plaza de Armas as well as the Casa Colorada, making a contrast with neighborhoods full of European tendencies of early 20th century like Paris-Londres and Barrio Civico neighborhoods. Skyscrapers with modern architecture also give Santiago the active metropolis accent.
A few museums in Santiago are Bellas Artes, Arte Contemporáneo, Arte Precolombino, Histórico Nacional and Archaeological Museum.
Because of the close location to the Andes Mountain Range, Santiago is located in a perfect area for winter sports practice. The ski centers like Farallones, Valle Nevado, La Parva, El Colorado and Lagunillas are located only a few kilometers from the city.
In the last years the economical growth and the financial security of Chile have permitted Santiago to be a very important city for business, disputing the title of Financial Capital of Latin America.

Two among the most eloquent examples are “the Osvaldo Aranha filet” and the “Leão Veloso soap”.
MACHU PICCHU, Peru Vacation

The Colca Valley is without a doubt the best-known both in Peru and abroad. Just four hours northeast of the city, the Colca boasts some of the most breath-taking landscapes in Peru: superb terracing, snow-capped peaks, dizzying canyons and towns dating back to the sixteenth century. There are 14 villages that have been preserved in the valley since those early colonial times, which the Spaniards used to settle the ancient Collagua and Cabana tribes, who had previously been scattered around the region. The visitor to the Colca Valley will surely be fascinated by the narrow streets and richly decorated churches. The Colca is also a haven for adventure sports fans.
Other sites include the ancient Toro Muerto rock paintings, the Imata natural stone formations and the Cotahuasi Canyon, believed to be the world's deepest. But what truly unites the different parts of Arequipa is without a doubt its exquisite cuisine. Visitors should not fail to try the local rocoto relleno (stuffed hot chili pepper), adobo (marinated roast beef) and the spicy chupe stews, which are simply irresistible.

Inca Trail, Peru
The Inca Trail or Camino Inca is located in the department of Cuzco, and it is the most popular trekking itinerary and possibly one of the most spectacular walks in the world. It forms part of the more than 23,000 km of roads built by the Incas across South America. Each year, some 25,000 hikers from all over the world walk the 43 km stone-paved trail, built by the Incas to get to the impregnable citadel of Machu Picchu, deep in the Cuzco cloud forest.
The Inca Trail sets out from Qorihuayrachina, at Kilometer 88 of the Cuzco-Quillabamba railway, and takes three to four days of tough hiking. The route runs through an impressive range of altitudes, where climates and eco-systems range from the high Andean plain down to the cloud forests. The trail climbs up through two highlands passes (the higher of the two, Warmiwañuska, lies at 4,200 masl) before reaching Machu Picchu through the Inti Punku or Gateway of the Sun. One of the attractions of the trail is that it winds past carved granite Inca settlements (Wiñay Wayna, Phuyupatamarca), and is surrounded by breath-taking natural scenery. The forests abound in hundreds of species of orchids, brightly colored birds and dream-like landscapes, the ideal complement to this indispensable hikers' route.
Machu Picchu, Luxury Vacations in Peru

South of Santiago de Chile, the valley has suffered the loss of some vineyards due to the encroachment of suburbs. Vineyards Cousino Macul, Canepa, Undurraga, Santa Ines, Tarapaca, Concha y Toro, Almaviva and Santa Rita are just a few of the most famous and will be happy if you visit them.
Santa Rita winery includes the beautiful luxurious hotel Casa Real, located in the middle of the winery, surrounded by a wonderful botanical garden. Tarapaca Vineyard also offers a hotel but only for small groups.
COLCHAGUA VALLEY (Rapel Valley)
Located 150 kilometers south of Santiago outside the city of Santa Cruz and connected to the capital by train since spring 2004.
Due to its fertile soil, this land is extraordinary for the production of red varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere. The four-star hotel Santa Cruz is a perfect base for visits to the surrounding wineries like Bisquertt, Santa Laura, Viu Manent, Cono Sur and MontGras.
The climate in Mendoza are the ideal setting for the full expression of this grape variety.

RECIFE PERNANBUCO, BRAZIL VACATIONS
Recife is the Brazil's fifth largest city, though it still preserves its tranquility and relaxed life style. It has an outstanding and vibrant folk culture. Olinda, 4 miles from Recife, with centuries-old churches and mansions, is one of Brazil's loveliest colonial vestiges. It was designated by UNESCO as a Historical, Natural and Cultural Patrimony of Mankind.
Recife's name was derived from the Portuguese word for reef, referring simply to the city's situation behind a long and protective coastal reef. Recife is a major port city, and much of its energy and culture has its source in the constant influx and outflow of trade. High rises, colonial churches, and markets quilt the city with a mix of old and new. Often called the Venice of Brazil for its many canals, bridges, and tiny one-way streets, Recife is a wonderful city in which to wander about, letting chance provide a memorable discovery or two.
The wealthy Boa Viagem district provides a good home base. This waterfront area is Recife's real center, possessing both the city's finest beach and a wealth of fine restaurants. Much of Recife's nightlife is here, as well as in Gracas. From there, the old city can be explored as well. Beginning at the Praca da Republica, one can visit the impressive, 19th-century Teatro Santa Isabel and proceed to the Catedral de Sao Pedro dos Clerigos. After passing through the colorful Mercado do Sao Jose (Saint John's Market), visitors can wind up a walking tour of the old city at the Basilica de NS da Penha.

IGUAZU FALLS, BRAZIL VACATIONS
Located in the limits between Argentina and Brazil. One of the world wonders and definitely an amazing, unique and powerful proof of the strength of the nature.
Iguazu Falls with an extension of almost 3 kilometers consists of approximately 275 separate waterfalls together in an arch of 270 degree that send their waters some 200 ft down to the rocks.
The Brazilian side of the falls has the most amazing panoramic views but the Argentine side has the most beautiful and powerful close-up views of the falls. The Argentine side is full of catwalks, hiking paths and sandy beach.
One of the nicest tours is the “Gran Aventura” that takes you by rafting boat up to the river as close as possible to the falls. A really adventurous way to see the falls.
