Cuzco and Machu Picchu
Cuzco is the Archaeological Capital of America, and the most ancient inhabited city within the continent. In Cuzco there are various types of coexisting architectures, ruins, temples and houses, which give testimony of its great past and history. All street signs in Cuzco are both in Spanish and in Quechua language (a tradition which the people in Cuzco cultivate as a beautiful heritage). The nearest ruins are known as Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay.
Machu Picchu is located in the nearby of the Urubamba River Valley approx. 120 Km. From Cuzco at 2400 m.a.s.l. in the midst of an exuberant amount of vegetation. Machu Picchu was built by the Inca Pachacutec in the 15th century and discovered in 1911 by Hiram Bingham.

Lake Titicaca Peru
The Titicaca Lake (Lago Titicaca) located at 3,820 m.a.s.l, is cradle of the Tiahuanaco culture, which developed on the plateau of the Collao. According to the Inca legend, from the dark waters of the Titicaca Lake (most highest navigable lake in the world) emerged Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo to establish the Inca Empire. More than 25 rivers empty into Titicaca, and the lake has 41 islands – some of which are densely populated. Titicaca lake is notable for a population of people who live on the Uros, nine artificial islands made of floating reeds. These islands have become a major tourist attraction for Peru, drawing excursions from the lakeside city of Puno. Another island, Taquile, is another tourist attraction featuring a different indigenous community. The Taquile locals are known for their handwoven textile products, which are some of the highest quality handicrafts in Peru.

Tambopata National Reserve
The Tambopata National Reserve is a 275,000 hectare conservation unit created by the Peruvian government in 1990 to protect the watersheds of the Tambopata and Candamo rivers. It is adjacent to the huge 1 million hectare Bahuaja Sonene National Park. Whilst the Tambopata National Reserve was created with an underlying philosophy of sustainable resource use, the park was created with the purpose of wholeheartedly protecting the forests within. Both conservation units protect some of the last untouched lowland and premontane tropical humid forests in the Amazon. This Connecticut-sized area of pristine forest contains 1300 bird species, 32 parrot species (10% of the world’s total), 200 mammal species, 1200 butterfly species and over 10,000 species of vascular plants.
